Welcome to the Dear Daughters Design blog! I spent a considerable amount of time reflecting on the kinds of blog posts I wanted to create for this space. I thought about sharing wonderful gift ideas to complement our cards and sweatshirts, as well as tips for encouraging kids with our positive thinking stickers and other daily reminders we sell.
However, I came to realize that while I believe those posts could be helpful—and I will definitely share some of my favorite ideas that I personally use—I ultimately want this blog to serve as a journal documenting the journey of creating Dear Daughters Design. I aim to reflect the dreams and aspirations of a former corporate mom who has transitioned into an artist in her forties. Although this path isn't exactly what I envisioned, it’s one that I’ve always dreamed of, and it’s one I'm forging. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I might help even just one other person along the way or inspire them to pursue their dreams.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
—Mary Oliver
Alongside sharing stories from the heart, I will show a real look into my creative process, important lessons learned, and the challenges faced in building this business from the ground up, all while also becoming a professional artist of different studies. You'll find anecdotes about the inspiration behind our designs, the joys and hurdles of balancing family life with entrepreneurship, going back to class in your forties, and the little victories that keep us moving forward.
Have you ever dreamt of pursuing a creative passion but felt stuck in the daily grind? Are you a mom juggling family life with a creative yearning? Or maybe you're a teacher who wants to inspire your students to embrace their creativity? This will be the right space where we'll explore the journey of a former corporate mom who took a leap and became an artist in her forties.
I am also eager to hear from you. Whether you're a fellow creator, a parent seeking inspiration, or someone simply curious about my journey, I would love to hear your thoughts and stories. Together, we can create a supportive community that celebrates creativity, resilience, and the pursuit of our passions. Get an insider's look at the journey of a "late bloomer" artist. Learn from my experiences, celebrate the victories, and navigate the hurdles together.
Thank you for being here and for your interest in Dear Daughters Design. I am excited to embark on this new blog. Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. Thanks for making this journey together!
