Our mission is to create a kinder and more sustainable world through heartfelt greeting cards of encouragement and hand-painted art inspired by nature's beauty.
Dear Daughters Design is a female-owned AAPI small business based in New Jersey founded by Pearl Lui in 2018 in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by her daughters to create a kinder world and to celebrate new moms with encouraging greeting cards she letters and paints everything by hand. Since 2024, the brand expanded to offer fine art. With a deep respect and love of nature and a commitment to create a kinder, more sustainable world, Pearl's artwork strives to highlight the beauty around us. All original designs are hand-painted in our New Jersey studio.
All items are designed for quality and are printed in the USA. Our well-loved greeting cards are all proudly made in the USA and ships directly from our art studio. All other items are printed and fulfilled by trusted partners within the Printify and Printful network, shipping directly from the printer to your doorstep for a lower carbon footprint.
About the Artist & Founder, Pearl Lui
Pearl Lui is an Artist and Calligrapher specializing in hand-drawn brush and graphite illustrations, hand-painted watercolor and acrylic artwork, and hand-lettered brush calligraphy.
Pearl is a seasoned marketing leader with over 20 years in corporate who always had an overwhelming appetite to create. She poured her passions into a diverse range of creative expressions and mediums as a self-taught artist. She now pursues art full time and she started a formal illustration program at the Rhode Island School of Design continuing education to further develop her illustration portfolio.
Inspired by the delicate beauty and bold strength of nature, Pearl's work is marked by a soft and ethereal exploration of lyrical lines, bold forms, and colorful textures. Creating original paintings by hand, working in ink, watercolor, gouache, acrylics, collage, and photography expressing graceful energy and spontaneity, inviting closer examination of every brush stroke and line.
With a deep respect and love of all living things and a commitment to create a kinder, more sustainable world, Pearl's artwork strives to highlight the beauty around us. Her greatest joys are raising her daughters with her husband, playing with her two German Shepherds, tending to her plants, newly birding, and sketching at her local nature conservancies.
Pearl holds a BBA in CIS minoring in Graphic Communications. She is currently pursuing a Natural Sciences Illustration Certificate, a Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education program. Expected completion, Spring 2026.
