Description
Loving Gaze, Gentle Glide
Original painting by Pearl Lui
Acrylic, 8"x10" canvas, 2025
Shown with Frame, $350 without frame
Featuring a mother swan with two visible baby swans on her back as she carries them through a lake at sunset. Motherhood is a common theme I paint about as there is something strong and soft juxtaposed in the theme. I enjoy painting and capturing tender moments, often personifying the nature around me.
The mute swan mother, or "pen", is the dedicated core of the family. When her grey, downy babies (cygnets) tire or need shelter, they often ride on her back or tuck beneath her wings for warmth and safety. To ensure constant defense, the parents stagger their annual molt: the pen loses her flight feathers first, followed by the father (cob) only once she can fly again, ensuring that one parent is always airborne.
The same frame shown in photo is available to be included for total package offered at $450. If you would like the frame with the painting, please email us at info@deardaughtersdesign.com before purchasing so we can update the listing to include the frame.
